I'm Sarah,
the creative soul behind Sun-Soul Designs.
Since I was a little nipper, I’ve always been doodling away. My grandma taught my sister and I how to draw swans on the back of envelopes in her conservatory and it all stemmed from there.
I had decided to start my career in finance and secured a job at a high street bank. Rather than excelling in mortgages and direct debits, I quickly became known as the office creative. Instead of doing my ‘actual’ work, I was designing flyers for charity events and decorating the branch for holidays instead.
inspiration
My designs primarily originate from nature. Growing up in the countryside I’ve always had a deep love for the outdoors and respect for our planet. As i’ve gotten older, my passions turned towards the ocean and I quickly realised how at peace I am near water.
A lot of my work is created in my converted van Misty, which also gives me huge inspiration, along with the surf culture I’ve recently become a part of. That’s why you’ll most likely see a lot of my designs with waves, boards, vans, palm trees and of course; suns.
For the past 9 years I’ve been working solely here at Birdie Barn™, a sustainable brand creating re-usable drink ware and the like. All the designs on their products, packaging, marketing materials and website are created by me. This is where I noticed I had a ‘knack’ for web design and thoroughly enjoyed tinkering away until the early hours to make sure the website was absolutely perfect.
In this respect, I thrive with complicated e-commerce stores and love ‘nerding out’ with coding to achieve the ultimate unique experience. Equally, my creativeness really comes alive when clients want to present their services to their audience so they know exactly who you are and what you do.
While I’ve absolutely loved dedicating my time every day to Birdie Barn, I now feel like it’s time to offer my services to others too!
